From St. Pete "Blood" to Miami Beach Artist

Michael Vasquez grew up in St. Petersburg. He doesn't consider himself a gang member, but it's a slippery slope, he says. Gang-bangers were his friends. His male role-models. And now the subjects of his art. Vasquez went to Miami to attend the New World School for the Arts, and stuck around. His intimate portraits of his fellow Bloods will be featured at this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach.
