Steve Newborn joined the WUSF 89.7 staff in March 2001. He was formerly a reporter at the Tampa Tribune, where he covered a variety of beats, including environmental and various governmental agencies since 1984. Prior to the Tribune Steve worked as a NASA spokesman in the Public Affairs Office. He received his journalism degree in 1983 from the University of South Florida.
