Florida's 2010 Political Landscape
It’s the first week of 2010 and Florida’s election season has already begun. The state’s Chief Financial Officer and Attorney General are battling for the governor’s job. And what once seemed an inevitable victory for Gov. Charlie Crist in the U.S. Senate race now looks competitive. Plus, it’s midterm elections nationally, which could strengthen Democrats’ hold of Congress or erode their majorities. We look at how politics will shape 2010, coming up on Florida Matters.

Crist versus Rubio discussion
What's going on Carson? Everyone I hear talking about the Crist-Rubio race keeps saying Jeb hasn't endorsed Rubio. Why then have I been getting fund-raising mailers from the Rubio campaign since SEPTEMBER which appear to be written BY Jeb and announce his support for Rubio and then ask me for campaign contributions?
I listened tonight and heard the same thing from you and both guests. I heard a broadcast of "Intersections" a few weeks ago on WMFE where Jeb was the guest and he stated on-air that he is not endorsing Crist or Rubio--though, like I said, I've been getting the mailers for nearly four months now.
I'm guessing it's a case of good old Jeb's selective reality mind trick happening again. He lied repeatedly (okay, said things which made good sound bites but didn't do what he had promised) when he was the governor and he's doing it now when he says he isn't endorsing anyone in the Crist-Rubio race. I can't remember if it was Mr. March or Mr. Smith who essentially said Jebby is going to wait until it looks like there is an obvious winner and then hitch his wagon to that one, but OF COURSE that's what Jeb will do. That's what ALL Bushes do and have done and will continue to do.
All I know is that asking me for money via a letter which contains statements that essentially say he personally knows Rubio and that he's the candidate for the people sure sounds like an endorsement to me.
Oh, Rubio's campaign is certainly lacking in their research skills because these mailers I keep getting; they refer to me as a registered Republican... I'm not.
