Thursday, November 18 was the Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalist's Awards ceremony and our locally produced University Beat took home two awards. The University Beat report on USF Library's "Otis R. Anthony African Americans in Florida Oral History Project" won in both the Non-Deadline Reporting TV category and the Features Reporting Radio category.

Held each November, the TBABJ ceremony is the only locally-produced journalism awards program that honors coverage of people of color. Special thanks to Dr. Otis Anthony, as well as to USF Libraries' Dr. Mark Greenberg and Eileen Thornton, USF Associate Professor Cheryl Rodriguez and the staff of WUSF Public Media, particularly Director of Photography Jorge Cunha, editor Wayne Rasanen and Dalia Colón.
