Miles for Moffitt / Children's Mental Health Research
The fifth annual “Miles for Moffitt” is coming up May 15th at USF’s Tampa campus, with Moffitt Cancer Center research once again being the recipient of all proceeds raised by the event. This week’s University Beat on WUSF-TV/DT has a preview of “Miles for Moffitt,” which includes five different races and a ceremony to honor cancer survivors. Also: For almost a quarter of a century, the University of South Florida has hosted children’s mental health research experts at an annual conference to talk about what’s working—and not working—in their field. This week’s University Beat on WUSF 89.7 FM takes you to this year’s conference, where the focus was on how collaboration can be used to overcome the one-two punch of more children needing services while less funding is available.
