Hurricane off Florida's coast
As June 1 approaches each year, emergency managers remind us to think about our hurricane evacuation plan and put together our supplies kit. Just a few years ago, in the wake of two very active seasons, it wasn’t too hard to get people motivated to prepare. But after several quiet years, forecasters, planners and emergency officials are worried about our forgetfulness. We’ll talk about the potential threat hurricanes pose to the Bay area and about what’s being called “hurricane amnesia.”
