Sports Concussions (re-broadcast)
With more research showing both the short and long-term health repercussions of concussions, USF is getting involved with its new “Concussion Center.” University Beat on WUSF-TV shows us some of the projects the Center is focusing on and introduces us to a high school athlete who stands to benefit from that work. Also: From youth leagues all the way up to the professional level, the dangers of sports-related concussions are becoming better recognized. University Beat on WUSF 89.7 FM takes us to the new USF Concussion Center, where medical experts are looking at the latest advances in the treatment and research of athletic head trauma.
Paul Jennings is from Cape Coral, Florida and performs a variety style of Gospel Music. Paul will be at Liberty, 3069 S McCall Rd Englewood, FL 34224. The concert will begin at 6 PM Sunday, January 9, 2011. Tickets are $5.00/person and are available now.
MK Foltz will lecture on "Contemporary 20th Century Photographic Aesthetics" in January and "From Modernism to Postmodernism into the 21st Century" in February. Each hour-long talk will be followed by a 30-minute question- and-answer session. 2 to 3:30 pm Sundays January 16 and February 13.
