SINGING FOR THE DOGS - A Concert to Benefit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay

Join USF voice students of Dr. Liana Valente, along with pianist Dr. Anne Marie Scotto, as they present a concert celebrating the lives of our furry, feathered and scaled friends, all to benefit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

You will hear songs in praise of dogs, birds, cows, and nature, all written by American composers.

All-County Band Concert

The public is invited to the All-County Band Concert to be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 16 at Florida Southern College’s Branscomb Auditorium, 111 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland. There is no charge to attend as Polk middle and high school students will perform.

SCF to Host EarthFest 2010 Guinness Record Attempt

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day on April 22, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Earth Club member Shane Henry will spearhead EarthFest 2010, a community-wide attempt to be recognized by Guinness World Records™ by collecting the most plastic bottles in an eight-hour period. A judge from Guinness World Records™ is scheduled to attend the event.
