First Lutheran Church and School, 1644 Nursery Road, Clearwater, is having a food drive on December 19th from 10 am to 2 pm to benefit the Homeless Emergency Project. Please bring your perishable (turkeys, hams, etc.) as well as non-perishable food items to the west side of the gym near the school. Last year, HEP prepared over 103,000 meals for the homeless in our area.

The issue has gained such prominence recently that the VA secretary has pledged to end homelessness among veterans within five years -- and he’s planning to spend billions to do it.
