Cold Case Update / Florida KidCare
In 1969, a young woman’s body was found in a foot locker in a wooded area of St. Petersburg. Earlier this year, USF forensic anthropologist Erin Kimmerle took part in an excavation of the victim to try to ‘warm up’ that cold case. University Beat on WUSF TV updates that investigation and previews a lecture series where Dr. Kimmerle and representatives from Bay Area law enforcement agencies share their experiences solving cold cases. Also: It may be because their mother or father is out of work…it may be because their family simply cannot afford it… but almost 800-thousand children in Florida do not have health insurance. Now one state program, based out of USF’s Chiles Center for Healthy Mothers and Babies, is providing them with an affordable alternative. University Beat on WUSF 89.7 FM has the details on “Florida KidCare.”
