Hospice Students / Afghanistan-Pakistan Conference
“Hospice” isn’t a place, but a system of care…and third year med students are finding out what it’s all about as they visit dying patients in their homes as part of a USF College of Medicine clerkship. This week’s University Beat on WUSF-TV follows a pair of students on their visits and finds out how the experience affects them. Also: The University of South Florida recently hosted a three-day symposium that included a speech by U.S. CentCom Commander, General David Petraeus. He and over two dozen experts from around the world gathered to talk about the people and policies of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and how American involvement can affect the future of the region. This week's University Beat on WUSF 89.7 FM has a recap of the symposium.
Guitarist Pat Metheny’s “Orchestrion” is a recording, and a tour, like no other. Growing out of his boyhood fascination with his grandfather’s player piano, Metheny has fashioned a stage full of instruments on which he is the sole performer.
