US Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Rex Temple & Afghanistan children
The husband of a USF professor is wrapping up his fourth military tour of Afghanistan, and he’s come up with a way to help the children there through a school supply drive. Now USF is getting involved, thanks to his wife, an adjunct professor at the School of Mass Communications. This week’s University Beat on WUSF-TV has more.

Afghan School Supplies
USF Adjunct Professor of Mass Communications Liisa Temple says her husband, USAF Sr. Mstr. Sgt. Rex Temple, came up with the Afghanistan school supply drive during a humanitarian mission this past June.

Liisa talks about what her husband is doing during his fourth (and final) tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Nicole Johnson, Director of Education & Outreach at the USF Diabetes Center, talks about her recent trip to visit the troops in Afghanistan with fellow former Miss Americas. Nicole, a USF graduate, was Miss America 1999.
