Valerie Wojciechowicz was 7 years old when her father died and her mother went to work full-time to support two children. That left her with many adult responsibilities at an early age. She says that responsibility was the foundation of her work ethic – but it was also the start of a series of problems with alcohol and drugs. Valerie’s now an HIV-AIDS awareness educator and talks with former Florida Stories Producer Eric Jordan about how her life found a new direction.

NEW YORK, Jan. 22, 2010 -- The New York City-based Orpheus Chamber Orchestra announces the completion of six new "Brandenburg" concerti. Orpheus' three-year, six-part New Brandenburg commissioning project paired six celebrated living composers with one of J.S. Bach's original "Brandenburg" concerti, widely regarded as some of the finest musical compositions to emerge from the Baroque era.
