iTunes Instructions

Want to listen to a WUSF podcast in iTunes? Here's how:

  1. In your browser, right click on a podcast's orange "POD" icon and click "Copy Link Address."
  2. Minimize your browser and open iTunes.
  3. Go to the "advanced" menu and click on "subscribe to podcast."
  4. Paste the URL or page address you copied into the box and click OK.
  5. You will see a list of items under a main podcast category. By default, only the first item will download. Double click the podcast that has downloaded and enjoy! Click on the "+" sign of other listed podcasts to download them.
  6. You may configure iTunes to automatically download any new podcasts in a given category upon launch of iTunes.

1. Leif Bjaland Leads the Sarasota Orchestra
The former Florida West Coast Symphony’s Artistic Director and conductor Leif Bjaland talked with WUSF classical music host Coleen Cook about a new way to ‘do music” for a growing arts community. He begins by explaining the reasons behind the name change to Sarasota Orchestra.

2. The Mystery of Mozart: The Secret of His Continued Endurance and Popularity
During our last membership campaign, we asked you who your favorite classical composer was. Your answer echoed what research generally reveals. Mozart comes out on top. WUSF’s Classical music host Coleen Cook asked some musical experts about what’s behind the Mystery of Mozart’s enduring popularity.

3.Live Performance of LaMusica at WUSF 89.7
Russell Gant hosted musicians from this year's La Musica International Chamber Music Festival for a live performance at WUSF 89.7's studios. Listen to Mendelssohn's piano trio in C minor, performed by Candida Thompson on violin, pianist Derek Han and cellist Xenia Jankovic.

4.Chuck Owens
On the October 3 edition of Saturday Night Jazz, Bob Seymour's guest was the director of the Jazz Surge Orchestra, Chuck Owen. A Distinguished Professor at USF, Chuck founded the Surge nearly 15 years ago, and the band is receiving rave reviews for "The Comet's Tail," featuring new arrangements of music by Michael Brecker. In this hour-long feature, Chuck talks about the new project as well as the band's history, including collaborations with Chick Corea and Gerald Wilson. He also tells us about recently being honored with a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the major composition the Fellowship will allow him to complete.
