To listen to the WUSF 89.7 or 89.72 live programs, or the NPR Hourly News or WUSF Podcasts, simply click on the corresponding button once.
"WUSF 89.7/89.72" Live Programs Buttons:
To listen to WUSF's Primary Broadcast Stream, Click the "WUSF 89.7" button once.
To listen to WUSF's HD Radio Broadcast Stream, Click the "WUSF 89.72" button once.
"NPR Hourly News" Button:
To begin listening to NPR's News Feed which is updated hourly, Click the "NPR Hourly News" button once.
"WUSF Podcasts" Button:
To view a listing of Podcasts that are available at WUSF.org, Click the "WUSF Podcast" button once. This listing will open in the main site window, not in the player window.
To "STOP" Listening
Click the "Pause" Button, to stop listening to any of the streams, programs or podcasts.
Depending on the type of file being played (video or audio), the "display area" will either display the video file or supply a description of the audio file currently being played.
"Full Screen" Button:
Clicking this button located on the top left of the panel, will expand the display window so it fills your entire screen. To return to standard view, push the ESC key.
Clicking this button will open a form in the main site window with which you can send a link of the currently playing media file's corresponding webpage to an email recipient.
"Share" Link Button:
Clicking this button displays the website address at which the web page that describes the currently playing media file resides. This link can then be copied and used for sharing the address of the media with others.
Clicking this button will save a copy of the currently playing media file to your computer for listening at your convenience on either your desktop media player, or player of your choice. NOTE: This option is only available when listening to audio files.
To "PLAY" playlist items:
Items listed in the "My Playlist" Panel will be played in order of appearance from the top to the bottom of the list.
If the player window is not open, clicking on a "Listen" or "Watch" link in the main site window will cause the player window to open. The media file corresponding with the link that was just clicked will be added to the top of the playlist and begin playing after a brief sponsorship message.
If the player window is already open, clicking on any of the "Listen" or "Watch" links , or links in the "Most Listened To" and "Related Media" Panel will cause the media file corresponding with the link that was clicked to be added to the bottom of the playlist. The media file will then be played after all of the items in the playlist above it have been played.
You can begin playing an item found in the playlist immediately without waiting for its turn to come by clicking on that item in the playlist:
To "ADD" playlist items:
You can ADD items to the "My Playlist" Panel by clicking on any of the media files listed in the "Most Listened To" and "Related Media" Panel or by clicking on any of the "Listen" or "Watch" links found on the main website (see images below).
To "CHANGE the ORDER" of playlist items:
To change the order in which the "My Playlist" items appear, Click, Hold and Drag the button on the playlist item you want to move. Playlist items must be moved one at a time.
To "REMOVE/DELETE" playlist items:
This button toggles between play and pause actions depending on whether the player is currently being played or paused. If the player is paused, clicking the play/pause button will cause the player to resume playing and vice versa.
Clicking on the "Forward" button will advance the player to the next media file on the playlist. If the playlist item currently being played is the last item on the playlist, pressing the "Forward" button will prompt the player to go back to the top of the playlist and play the first item on the playlist.
Clicking on the "Backward" button will prompt the player to play the media file previous to the playlist item currently being played.
During playback drag the Seek Bar handle left and right to advance to different points with in the media file that is currently being played. The Seek Bar handle will advance from left to right to indicate the relative position of current playback. Note that it takes some time for any media file to completely load into your computer's memory. During this buffering time, playback will continue but use of the seek bar and the seek bar handle will be disabled.
Located to the immediate right of the "Seek Bar". The counter displays two times. The time on the left is the current playback position time. The time on the right indicates the approximate ending point of the currently playing media or the maximum time currently stored in the buffer for playback. Note, the counter may not function or may be inaccurate before the currently playing media file is completely loaded into your computer's memory.
Click, Hold and Drag the Volume Slider left and right to increase and decrease the player volume.
The Sponsor Panel displays a message from a WUSF supporter. Clicking on the sponsor's information will not play a message in the player window. Instead it will open that sponsor's website in the main site browser window.
"Most Listened To" Button:
Clicking on this button will display up to twelve media files our visitors have enjoyed most often.
"Related Media" Button:
Clicking on this button will display a list of media files that are topically similar to the media file currently being played.
Clicking on the left or right arrow buttons on either end of the panel will scroll through the next or previous four items listed within the "Most Listened To"/"Related Media" Panel.
Clicking on the page numbers on the top right of the panel will display the first, second or last group of four items listed within the "Most Listened To"/"Related Media" Panel.
Clicking on the button found within the item's box will cause that item to be added to the bottom of the My Playlist panel. That item will then be played after the items listed above it have been played, or when that new playlist item is clicked.
