The Public Is Invited To Comment
Citizens are invited to comment on the performance of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office during a special public hearing in connection with the agency’s national accreditation inspection through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement (CALEA).
The public session will start at 7:00 p.m., Monday night, October 22, 2012, at the Sheriff’s Child Protection Division, located at 8550 Ulmerton Rd., Suite 255, Largo.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office must comply with 480 standards in order to maintain its national accreditation. According to Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, the agency was first accredited in 1988 and has continuously maintained its national status.
For those who cannot attend the public session, verbal comments can be submitted to the assessment team by telephone. The assessors will receive telephone calls from the public from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012. Citizens are asked to call 727-582-6033 to speak to an assessor.
