Perlman Music Program

For the seventh year, the Perlman Music Program returns to the bay area, with USF Sarasota-Manatee playing host once again to the program’s two week winter residency. Over thirty musically gifted students will learn from a faculty led by renowned violinist-conductor Itzhak Perlman and his wife, Toby. In addition, the pupils will take part in over twenty concerts and rehearsals, all free and open to the public. University Beat on WUSF TV has a preview.

USF’s Sarasota-Manatee campus is once again hosting the “Perlman Music Program,” with world-renowned violinist and composer Itzhak Perlman. University Beat on WUSF 89.7 takes you to the two week Winter Residency, where over thirty young, gifted musicians from around the globe are taking part in a series of classes and lessons, as well as recitals and performances that are open to the public.

Mark Schreiner has been the producer and reporter for "University Beat" on WUSF 89.7 FM since 2001 and on WUSF TV since 2007. He has worked as an anchor, reporter and producer at radio stations in Tampa and his native Chicago since 1992.
