A pair of USF students has opened 1Apple Grocery, a new store in Plant City that targets members of the Florida WIC program, which provides financial aid to low-income women, infants and children so that they can buy nutritious food. We’ll take you there on University Beat on WUSF TV.
It’s not the career path they had imagined, but a pair of USF students has opened up a grocery store in Plant City. Not only does 1Apple Grocery serve low-income women and children, it also takes on the role of an oasis in a ‘food desert,’ providing customers with nutritious food they can afford. Join us in the express lane as we visit 1Apple on this week’s University Beat on WUSF 89.7.
