Soprano, Marisa Arzillo University of Tampa Faculty Voice Recital
General Event Information
Come celebrate an afternoon of classical song with Soprano, Marisa Arzillo, with special guest artists: Ryan Herbert - Organist, University of Tampa, Tony Mercer - Collaborative Pianist, Southeastern University, Carlos Velez - Flute, Valencia College, Ted DeCorso - Clarinet, University of Tampa, and Gretchen Geist - Mezzo Soprano, University of Tampa.
The program includes songs from great composers such as J.S. Bach, Richard Strauss, Albert Roussel, Lori Laitman, Carlisle Floyd, and Gioacchino Rossini.
Soprano, Marisa Arzillo, has performed with companies such as: St. Petersburgh Opera Company, The Opera Company of Philadelphia, The Choral Arts Society of Philadelphia, The Florida Orchestra, The Florimezzo Orchestra, The Masters Chorale of Tampa Bay, The Rutgers Symphony Orchestra, The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, and Walt Disney World. She has also performed throughout Europe in opera and concerts in Germany, Italy, and Spain.
Marisa has performed many operatic roles including her favorites: Susannah in Susannah, Cunegonde in Candide, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Olympia and Antonia in Les contes d'Hoffman, Monica in The Medium, and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro. She has had the great honor of performing under Maestro Gian Carl Menotti, in his Il Festival dei dui Monde in Italy.
Marisa has given recitals and concerts throughout the northeast, being a featured soloist in many genres of music from Oratorio such as Handels's Messiah and Richard Einhorn's Voices of Light to Contemporary Commercial Music featured on the Discovery Channel and National Geographic.
Marisa has received both a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Musical Theater and a Voice Performance Certificate from Shenandoah University, received a Masters of Music in Voice Performance from The University of South Florida, and received her Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in Voice Performance at Rutgers University.
Marisa has won numerous awards and honors for her singing from organizations such as: The National Association of Teachers of Singing - Regional Winner, Sigma Alpha Iota Fraternity for Women in Music – Sword of Honor, Pinellas Opera Guild, New Jersey Women in the Arts, and Suncoast Opera.
Marisa has taught voice at University of South Florida, Rutgers University, and is currently teaching at the University of Tampa, Southeastern University,and Rollins College.
