The Loft Art Gallery: Aaron Adams
Aaron Adams is September’s Featured Artist at The Loft Art Gallery
Aaron Adams is a man interested in people and the human experience. His artwork, inspired by everyday heroes and the human plight, will be on display at The Loft Art Gallery through September 30.
The show debuts during the First Friday festivities on Sept. 5. A reception with live music, wine and hors d’oeuvres is scheduled for 6 – 9 p.m.
Adams recently made the transition from drawing to painting under the tutelage of David Collins of Paint Along Studios. Adams, who relocated to Lakeland last year, has quickly made up for lost time. He took a hiatus from drawing for five years, but has dabbled in the creative medium his whole life. In his off time, he often sketches and doodles while attentively listening to conversation. In his off time, you can find him sketching and doodling in downtown.
His artwork showcases polarizing public figures he respects and admires. The pieces range from Native American activist Leonard Peltier and Chuck D of Public Enemy, to the late comedian George Carlin. When asked what he hopes people will take away from the exhibit he said, “There is the inherent ability for humans to connect and share in the human experience without hatred or a political agenda.”
The Loft Art Gallery is located upstairs in Paint Along Studios in downtown Lakeland at 123 S. Kentucky Ave. Hours are: Mondays, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Tuesdays-Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturdays, 5-10 p.m. Call (863) 409-5771 for more information or visit www.loftartgallerydowntown.com.
