Florida Homegrown is a series of two minute interstitials that provide viewers with tips on making Florida gardening an enjoyable experience. Mike McLaughlin, Director of Horticulture at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota as well as Marina D'Abreau, a Hillsborough County Extension Agent, host each segment.
The focus is on plants and practices native to Florida and our weather conditions. They were produced by award winning videographer, Leslie Gaines. The production of the series was funded by Mr. Blake Whisenant of Earth Box Inc. along with the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.
