This Week on Saturday Night Jazz: "What’s New in Jazz"

Joe Lovano

Joe Lovano

We’ll catch up this Saturday night with some fine new jazz, including “Symphonica,” a beautiful concert recording by Joe Lovano with big band and string orchestra, featuring  the Charles Mingus piece “Duke Ellington’s Sound of Love.”  We’ll also hear Bob Mintzer’s Big Band, the creative vocalist Kate McGarry, and pianist Mike LeDonne leading a top-flight quintet in performance at Smoke on New York’s Upper West Side.  Keep up with what’s new, this Saturday night at 10:00 PM, with Bob Seymour.

Bob Seymour's Saturday Night Jazz airs Saturday, September 6, at 10:00 PM, right after Piano Jazz.
