American Experience "The Kennedys" No family has had such a powerful hold on the American imagination. A saga of ambition, wealth, family loyalty and personal tragedy, the Kennedy story is unlike any other. Joseph Kennedy's rise on Wall, John Kennedy's march to the presidency and Edward Kennedy's withdrawal from the 1980 presidential race following the scandal of Chappaquidick are all elements of a legacy that continues to influence politics today.

Adventures Lodges of North America "Canadian Adventure Lodges" On the west coast of British Columbia in the Great Bear Rainforest, the King Pacific Lodge, floats a three-story luxury resort, moored on an island. The nearest road ends 150 miles away. This isolation yields the opportunity to see on of the rarest animals on the planet: the white-colored Kermode, or "Spirit Beat." "Canadian Adventure Lodges" journeys further east, in Alberta's rocky mountains, to Sundance Lodge, accessible only on horseback and further, to eastern Canada to LaSeigneuri du Triton, a late-1800s fishing club that once hosted prestigious guests such as Harry Truman and former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

Jean-Michel Cousteau: Ocean Adventures "Sea Ghosts" There are places on this planet where it's a marvel that anything survives. In
the cold Arctic waters of the far north, the sea is alive with sound. Beluga whales, named from the Russian word for "white ones," are an evolutionary surprise - a warm-blooded mammal living in a numbingly cold sea. Jean-Michel Cousteau and team travel to the high Arctic to discover why some beluga groups are thriving and others are disappearing. Airs Thursday, July 2, at 9:00 PM. |
