Mozart: The Adagio and Allegro in f minor
Today’s Midday Mozart has a curious history. The Adagio and Allegro in f minor was catalogued as being written for an organ and a clock. But that actually referred to an instrument that was a mechanical organ. If it was anything like the one Haydn had it was rectangular with a spinning barrel that had the kind of scroll like a player piano to help crank out the music. There was also a type of bellows on the Haydn instrument. But today on Midday Mozart, we’re going to hear a performance for piano four-hands.
Tune in at noon to hear Midday Mozart on Classical WSMR 89.1, Sarasota and WUSF 89.7 HD-2 to hear the Adagio and Allegro.
