The Grand Central Chili Cook-Off is the District’s longest-running event and serves as a fundraiser for the GCDA, a 501c3 non-profit organization. The event will take place Saturday, February 23, 2019 from Noon until 4:00 p.m. – rain or shine – along the 2400-2600 blocks of Central Avenue and will include the chili competition with over 30 contestants, beer tastings from 5 District breweries, live music, and vendors.

Chili tasting tickets are available at www.grandcentraldistrict.org. Tickets are $20 for Chili Tasting and $25 for Chili and Beer Tasting (ID will be required at check-in). Advance ticket purchase is recommended; If available tickets will be sold at the event. Chili tasting tickets include samples of all the chili entries and voting participation in the People’s Choice category. The chili entries will also be blind tasted and scored by judges and winners will be announced at 3:30pm in multiple categories: Best Professional Chili (chefs, cooks, restaurants, food trucks, etc.), Best Home Cook Chili (amateur cooks, home cooks, businesses, organizations), People’s Choice, and Best Vegetarian Chili.

Registration for chili contest entrants is open and free. Tickets, sponsorship, vendor, and volunteer opportunities are also available at www.grandcentraldistrict.org.
