Breckenridge Toastmasters Club is hosting a Humor Workshop Open House event on Friday, December 8 from 630p – 8pm.  The event is open to the public and the club invites anyone who is interested in the power of humor in storytelling and how it influences effective communication.  Keith Connes will be the workshop presenter.  Connes, 91, is the author of “Not Your Everyday Memoir” and has been a writer and producer for TV and radio with several major ad agencies.  He's an actor, singer, and public speaker and views almost everything in a humorous light. Throughout the event Keith will provide explanations of what makes people laugh – tools that can be used by every audience member to successfully create humorous speeches or to add humor to other types of speeches. Each audience member receives a Humor Toolbox handout summarizing the information that was given at the workshop.

The event is sponsored by Breckenridge Toastmasters and will take place at the Progressive Contact Center located at 4030 Crescent Park Drive, Riverview.  Follow signs to the visitor center, then check in at security and let them know you are there for Toastmasters.  Breckenridge Club President, Christopher Doherty, states “this will be an exciting event for everyone who attends Toastmasters.”

Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communications and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.  The Breckenridge club meets every 2nd and 4th Friday from 6:30pm to 7:45pm at Progressive Insurance.  Guests are always welcome.  For details visit the club website at Breckenridge.toastmastersclubs.org.
