Sounds of the Civil Rights Movement: The Power of Song is the official kick-off event for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service volunteer programs in St. Petersburg, FL. The production shares songs and the history of the music that drove the Civil Rights Movement. It features professional artists and students who perform together to promote mentoring, community service and non-violence. This the 4th year of the performance, sponsored by St. Petersburg College and the MLK Day of Service Advisory Board and produced by The Power of Song Inc.
